Understanding and Healing for a better life
What is Religious Trauma?
Religious Trauma is the psychological, emotional, and spiritual harm people experience due to harmful or abusive religious beliefs, practices, or environments. This trauma can result from indoctrination, coercive control, spiritual abuse, or punitive teachings that cause deep emotional distress, fear, guilt, or shame. We can also experience religious trauma when church leaders hurt us. Individuals who experience religious trauma may struggle with issues such as anxiety, depression, loss of faith, identity confusion, and difficulties in forming healthy relationships. Whether you are staying in your faith or have deconstructed I’m here to help you sort it all out.
